1937 Marx, No.569 Streamlined Commodore Vanderbilt Train Set in Original Box

This amazing six-car Streamline Mechanical Freight Train Set was part of the inventory sell-off from the Marx, Erie, Pennsylvania plant closing held in 1978. It's in unused near mint+ to mint condition and comes complete with its original receipt from the sale. Each car is the earliest of its type which featured silvery polished tin wheels and frame. Although the cars were remade over the years, no other version had a metal plated frame. It's listed in the auction house inventory as "Marx Freight set with nickel frames". It all comes complete with original box, paperwork, and key.

The set includes the following. Locomotive is 8" long. Cars are 6" long.

  • Streamlined Commodore Vanderbilt Clockwork Locomotive - with right side keyhole, polished tin spoke wheels, single dome, smokestack, and with tinned headlight rim and drivers.
